Hello everyone,
Thank you Mike for sending this on behalf of my mum and family, and thanks to everyone who has passed on their condolences and kind words. I will pass these on to my mum, who many of you know and have met personally.
When I was a kid, my dad used to take me to his office and I recognise a number of names on the list, and I know outside of being with his grandchildren, he was at his happiest being at the department. He loved his job and was so dedicated to engineering, his colleagues and students. If I learnt anything from him it was to be as committed to work and put a shift in like he did, not quite sure I matched his discipline but I do try. He loved travelling as part of his work and I know every trip was an experience and his trips to Ancona and Brazil were always ones that held a special place.
We are holding the funeral on Tuesday 28th February at Warriston Crematorium, in Edinburgh, at 12pm. Services are expected to last 1.5 hours and we are due to have some sort of event post the funeral services, which we have yet to organise so apologies no details. The family would welcome any of you should you wish to attend part if not all of the events on the day
Best regards
Shameek
on behalf of Asha and the family
