Abstract
Arge Tabriz is a masonry historical building in the city of Tabriz, NE of Iran. This structure iscomposed of a U shaped wall with varying thicknesses. The average height of the building is 33meter. To assess the seismic behavior of Arge Tabriz, a three dimensional model of the structure wasestablished by ANSYS code. For the analysis of the masonry body of the building Solid65 andSolid95 elements was utilized. The results of nonlinear dynamic analyses show that the structure isvery vulnerable to the earthquakes even with moderate PGAs as 0.3g.
