Abstract
Modulus of elasticity and creep test data are presented for masonry subjected to load at ages ranging from 3 to 56 days. Some masonry was moist-cured before loading while other masonry was allowed to dry before applying the load. Whereas the modulus of elasticity of moist cured masonry increases with age in the same manner as concrete, the modulus of predried masonry decreases slightly with age. Although there are large variations at early ages, the creep coefficient decreases as the age at loading increases. When expressed as relative to that for a 28d age at loading, the creep coefficient is similar for moist cured and predried masonry. Expressions are given to describe average trends.
