Abstract
Tests were conducted on model scale brick masonry panels having the same cross-sectional area, but different heights. Uniform, uniaxial, cyclic compressive stresses were applied to the panel in the direction parallel to the bed joints. Failure occurred by splitting in the bed joints resulting in the formation of group of brickwork columns. The effect of panel height on the deformation characteristics and the variations of residual strain with envelope strain, common point strain and stability point strain are presented.
