Persian brick masonry minarets have various shapes and dimensions. There are many minarets in Isfahan, Central Iran, built in the tenth century A.D. There has been no study on structural behaviour of Persian brick masonry minarets due to change of temperature and fire. In this paper, results from the non-linear three-dimensional finite element analysis of a number of minarets in Isfahan under change of temperature and fire will be presented. Different cases of change of temperature and the effect of internal spiral staircase have been studied.
