Abstract
The structural behaviour of a masonry bell tower located in a seismic area is studied when an earthquake is acting at the ground level. Masonry material macromodelling, artificial accelerograms synthetically generated compatible with a response spectrum according to standards, crack pattern, non linear behaviour, time history analysis and the maximum seismic action in terms of peak ground acceleration that the bell tower can withstand are the main points treated in the present paper.
