Abstract
The paper discusses the results of the creep tests on I-section members and a solid pier built with a Fletton brick and a 1:1/4:3 mortar. The geometries of the I-section members were assumed to be representative of diaphragm walls and the solid piers were of the type used in fin wall construction. Existing guide lines appear to apply reasonably well to solid piers used in fin walls but overestimate the creep in I-section members by about 60%.
