Abstract

Tests were carried out to verify the effectiveness of some consoli-dant and protective products for sandstone from an area around the town of Pavia, south of the river Po, in Lombardy. This stone is widely used in buildings and monuments in the local area, but it suffers from serious decay that calls for urgent conservation work. This paper reports the results of the tests for the identification of the characteristics and behaviour of the examined products.
