Abstract

Studies to compare the durability performance of building mortars prepared using a number of cements with and without limestone additions have been in progress at BCA for several years. This paper describes the test procedures used and the research programme to determine the performance of OPC with and without 5% minor additional constituent, with none and with 13-20% selected limestone, the influence of the tricalcium aluminate content and the performance of two air entrained mortars.
