Abstract
This study proposes a concept of a stiffness/strength corrector to quantify variation in masonry properties, based on analysis of ratios between experimental and the FEA (Finite Element Analysis) displacements of a full-scale masonry panel. It has shown that the corrector is mainly related to panel boundary conditions and locations on the panel. The effect of the corrector on improving the response of the panel is verified by feeding back the corrector to the corresponding zone within the panel. A proposal for the application of the corrector to other panels is also discussed.
