Abstract
The material properties of high-performance glass fibre composite bars, relevant to their use as prestressed masonry anchor bolts are discussed. Special emphasis is placed on the bond of the bars to conventional cement mortar and high quality resin-based mortar. General observations and comparisons with conventional masonry bolts are made on the basis of available test data. Finally, the practical implementation is demonstrated by specific stabilising measures carried out on a building.
