Abstract
In reinforced concrete framed buildings with brickwork panel infill axial stresses can build up within the wall panel for which it was not designed, due to the concrete frame shrinking. Failure or bulging of the infill panel may only be avoided because of the ability of brickwork to relieve the imposed toads by stress relaxation. Test results showed that a modified Theological equation gave good agreement with experimental results. This paper reports further tests on sixteen brickwork specimens of seven different brickwork strengths under identical test conditions and experimental procedures. In each case the modified equation is compared with the stress relaxation results.
